As October draws closer, changes to BT's landline tariff also looms gloomily close. BT had previously announced that its fixed line rentals would increase by 50p.
For many users of fixed line services these changes could result in them paying £45 more for their landline monthly rental alone, suggests an article published on lovemoney.com.
Writing for the financial advice website, Emma Roberts pointed out that BT customers were needlessly being penalised for the brand loyalty exhibited by them.
She goes on to urge readers to take matters into their own hands and punish BT "en masse" for pushing for a price hike in extremely trying times.
However, the article advised customers to weigh out all their options and consider all the possible costs involved before considering such a move.
Earlier this year, telecoms regulator Ofcom ruled in favour of landline users by slashing the costs of terminating home phone contracts before the end of the contract.
