Regional telecoms provider KC is set to increase its national landline calling charges in the face of growing commercial pressures.
Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, the company's director Nick Thompson claimed that it would endeavour to ensure its 1, 2 and 3 home phone packages customers reap the full value of the increase.
Mr Thompson added: "Our monthly line rental will still be cheaper than BT's and regardless of which KC Talk plan they're on, customers can enjoy unlimited free calls to local numbers every day - something we know they value."
In May, KC announced plans to invest a further £4 million in telephone and broadband networks across Hull and East Yorkshire, indicating that the cash will be spent on upgrading the network.
Around £1 million of the investment will be dedicated to improving broadband speeds in East Yorkshire villages, with the intention of setting a minimum broadband speed of 2Mbps or greater for 99.5 per cent of KC customers.
