BT Openreach has announced a new scheme that aims to persuade businesses and homes to adopt a second telephone landline.
Running from April 10th to July 9th, the offer will feature a £50 incentive for every customer that orders a second line in the time period. This discount applies to both unbundled and WLR Analogue telephone lines.
Openreach noted: "Starting of stopped lines and new provision orders to premises will be validated to ensure that they are second lines and meet the offer terms and conditions."
It hopes that the offer will help communication providers to encourage end users to utilise Openreach copper access lines.
Elsewhere, Jersey Telecom has frozen its landline rental charges until the end of this year, after action by the Channel Islands Competition Regulatory Authority (CICRA).
CICRA has capped the fees of local, UK and international calls, ahead of a thorough assessment of line rental service costs later this year.
