A number of properties in Dundee have been hit with a landline outage, leaving them without functional home phones.
Up to 60 homes in the city have been impacted by the issue, after third-party damage was inflicted on the firm's network, with two cables being severed during work conducted on Dundee's waterfront, reports the Courier.
Speaking to the newspaper, a representative from BT noted that each of the cables are capable a supplying up to 30 end users with landline services.
The spokesperson from BT explained to the newspaper: "The damage affected phone and internet-based services and so could account for some of the disruption - and we apologise for any inconvenience."
This news comes after customers on the Vodafone At Home landline service were told that they would be transferred to Plusnet next month.
A competitive market has led to Vodafone taking the move, with users expected to be migrated from February 7th.
