One Scotland MSP has stressed concerns about the mobile broadband coverage available in the country.
Badenoch MSP Dave Thompson is concerned that Westminister will fail to stimulate 4G connectivity in rural areas of the country, reports the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald.
Speaking to the news provider, Mr Thompson said: "I am concerned that Westminster, will fail to place an obligation to cover the same proportion of Scotland as the UK on companies that bid for the new 4G licences."
He added that the British government's history of providing modern infrastructure for Scotland's rural areas does not inspire confidence for the regions' future connectivity.
Despite Mr Thompson's worries, Scotland's infrastructure secretary Alex Neil recently announced that broadband speeds in the country could become five times faster by 2015.
Mr Neil is also planning for "world-class digital access" to all of Scotland by 2020, with improvements in mobile broadband also part of the plans.
