The Olympics will see more civil servants using broadband packages to work from home, it has been claimed.
More people will be using videoconferencing as a replacement for face-to-face meetings in order to ease the strain on the transport system and boost efficiency, according to a London Evening Standard interview with cabinet minister Francis Maude and head of the civil service Sir Bob Kerslake.
Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Maude said: "What we are particularly concerned to do is to find ways of changing behaviour and patterns which will give us a continuing benefit - this is the Civil Service legacy that we are seeking from the Olympics."
Sir Bob Kerslake also told the newspaper that the flexible working plans offer a chance for people to experiment with a new way of working and learn from it.
Recently, a study from PwC found that flexible working is viewed as a top perk for 19 per cent of graduates.
